In this project we had to create a car that would travel 5 meters exactly while carrying 250 grams. We used rubber bands to power our car. The bands wrapped around the wheel which made the wheel spin, moving the car forward.
Spring Potential Energy - PE=1/2kx^2 - The energy stored in a spring when it is compressed or expanded
Spring constant - k=F/d - A measure of how difficult is is to expand or compress a spring
Kinetic Energy - KE=1/2mv^2 - Energy due to motion
Thermal Energy - Heat
Velocity - v=m/s - The rate of distance traveled in a direction
Acceleration - a=v/t - The change in velocity when speeding up or slowing down
Reflection: I did not enjoy this project very much. My group did not work together very well. One group member in particular did not help very much. A "pit" was that our car didn't work because the wheel stopped turning. A "peak" was that we were able to get our work done on time. I didn't learn many new skills during this project. I will continue to work on my leadership and work ethic skills.
